I went to Saturday both weekends of ACL this year. They denied my media pass, but that’s okay. I was still on the ground. And they will not deny my media pass forever.
Doechii is literally one of the best performers i’ve ever seen. Both her and the Strokes I saw both weekends and both were good. But Doechii was way better.
The Strokes aren’t quite washed up. I just think that the genre of music they play is not cared for as much in this modern era. They are such a good band but they aren’t Phish and they aren’t Sabrina Carpenter.
Sabrina Carpenter is so famous. Many people were specifically there to see her. The crowd was massive at her set. I only wandered over last week, but didn’t watch much. I did get to see her bring out Shania Twain which was very cool. They played “That don’t impress me much”
I got to sit on the BMI stage and watch them tonight with my good friend Gab. Sitting on the stage with bar service for free during a set like that is pretty cool. Making friends in the music industry does not require a job. You just have to hustle for a really long time.
And not having to pay $17 per beer is pretty dope, not gonna lie. I tipped the hell out of the bartender because she deserved it. She hooked me up all day long with ice cold brewskis.
Car Seat Headrest didn’t play Drugs With Friends and i was a little bummed about that. But i’m listening to it now and enjoying it. Such a good song that i have loved for many years.
Bird scooters are dangerous and fun as hell. I rode one home through downtown Austin and if I wasn’t a beast I probably would have died. Those things should have a breathalizer attached, lmao
Now it’s 6:30 am and i’m sitting on my front porch. I slept from 11pm until about 5am and here I am just awake and living my life here in Austin. Before the sun comes up the back porch at my new spot on 6th is pretty damn good.
