Back in 2015, Public Safety founders Bear Buscher (vocals) and Jimmy Jeter (guitar) met as students at the College of Charleston. Like many other college bands in Charleston, Public Safety started out in the house show circuit and sprinkled in a few shows at bars around town. With a few original songs under their belt, Public Safety built up a local following and became friends with several other local bands, including Whitehall, whom they split bills with a few times at house shows and the late King Dusko.

Fast forward a few months and the original lineup of Public Safety called it quits. Bear and Jimmy moved out to Bear’s hometown of Denver, CO to re-form the band and get involved with the city’s rapidly growing music scene. Since then, Public Safety has developed their own variety of hard-hitting rock ‘n’ soul that has allowed them to tour fairly consistently all around the western United States.

Now, though, it’s time for Public Safety to make a homecoming trip to the East Coast, to the city where it all began: Charleston, South Carolina. They’ve just embarked on a tour that will bring them out here, dubbed “The Cook Out Tour”, which includes several dates in North Carolina, one in Kentucky, two in Colorado, and of course the anticipated stop at the Music Farm to play with their old pals in Whitehall and soon-to-be new friends Daddy’s Beemer.

Before leaving for The Cook Out Tour, Public Safety released a new single called “Two Years Later”, and then a few days later they dropped the full EP, LUA. Getting some serious Pepper vibes from these guys. Stream the EP below and get your tickets to Public Safety’s March 31st show at the Music Farm here.
