Today, the rising Charleston grunge rock band, Erode The Dream, release the lyric video for their third single, “Becoming Ghosts” — an Extra Chill exclusive.
“Becoming Ghosts” is a driving, disorienting trip led by thrashing drums and gnarled guitars, while singer Mauricio Masãre continues to deliver unique and powerful vocals. It is paired with a video that is appropriately filmed in a car, traveling around the Charleston, SC area and the whole band crammed inside. Including Jon Stout, the big man in the back seat.
The track comes from the upcoming Erode The Dream debut EP, Neon Nightmares, which will be released on vinyl in January. It was recorded at Big Animal in Charleston, SC with Eric Rickert, and features Bekah Rice on background vocals and phone messages, Ben Stout on intro vocals and Chris Huber (myself) on sleigh bells. Mastered by Michael White.
Erode The Dream have made a big impact during their first year on the scene, and are quickly becoming one of the most well-oiled bands in town, with a professional-yet-DIY approach. Plus, an engaging, heavier sound that goes against the grain of Charleston’s established indie sound.
Erode the Dream will perform at Kulture Klash 9 on November 16th in North Charleston.
