Persona La Ave – “Surfer Girl”

On Friday, Charleston synth/vaporwave artist Persona La Ave dropped a new single called “Surfer Girl”. The track carries an obvious Mac Demarco influence in my ears, from the instrumentation right down to the ethereal vocals, and is thus a bit different from most of the atmospheric stuff that Persona La Ave been putting out this year. Nevertheless this tune catches a vibe, just like all of Persona’s music, and it rides that vibe all the way from start to finish. This time, as the title suggests, we’re hitting a lo-fi surfer vibe, complete with jangly guitar and a rolling bass line.
