Oukuo – Gorilla’ EP

Oukuo, the solo production project led by Thomas Kenney of the bands Doom Flamingo and Terraphonics, has just dropped the debut Gorilla EP. The release follows two singles that were unveiled earlier this year to introduce the project: “The Blue City” (which did not make the EP), and “Welcome to Oukuo”. The Gorilla EP is electronically-driven and made with your dancing shoes in mind. You can hear a little bit of that Doom Flamingo festival-style influence at points, as well as the jazz-friendly worldly music that Terraphonics has been known for. Personally, I dig the sax on the title track, “Gorilla”.
