On Wednesday, October 23rd, Judah & The Lion brought The Process Tour to Charleston for a packed weeknight showing at The Refinery. He is touring with Christian singer-songwriter Abe Parker, plus a local opener on the road in each city, which for Charleston was Tyler Boone.
Around 8pm, Judah took the stage with a five piece band. According to the band, “Denial” is the first of the five stages of grief, and the backdrop displayed it along with the album colors. The energy of the band was apparent immediately, with Judah screaming the lyrics along with an enthusiastic crowd.
According to Extra Chill’s Maren McGuire, the atmosphere for the whole show was amazing — everyone was singing, and even crying together. She calls the show one of her all-time favorites.
Judah sang his 2020 song “Beautiful Anyway”. They said they always perform this song at every show, no matter what because someone always needs to hear it. The crowd was brought to tears and just silently listened to him sing this song. Judah even started crying midway through.
After the heartfelt moment, the show went right back to high energy. The whole band did a little dance for the crowd and they played some fun games, like pulling a name from a hat, deciding which member did a solo. They brought the Palmetto Youth Choir up to help sing one of the songs, and then Judah walked through the entire crowd, and even mentioned that Charleston is their favorite city to play in.
