Girl Pluto, the indie-folk outfit formed by Brooke Garwood and Emma Dooley, released a much-anticipated first single, “Can’t Move,” on Friday. The track was recorded and produced by Mega Hot Records.
“Can’t Move” is a bittersweet ballad, misty but grounded by an earthy rhythm. Garwood’s voice, clear and smooth like velvet, croons a lovesick plea: “I can’t move, stay another night.” Dooley’s gentle violin compliments the composition, punctuating each verse with longing.
Girl Pluto is relatively new on the scene, but the duo has already opened for the likes of Sam Burchfield and Susto. This debut continues the momentum, and it’s looking like we can expect great things.
