Sunday evening was cold and stormy in Charleston, but down at the Pour House there was a warm and cozy haven to be found. Chicago’s Elizabeth Moen curated this haven, making a stop in town at the start of a tour through the Southeast as a duo with Hayden Holbert.
Local and Extra Chill favorite She Returns From War kicked things off. Hunter Park set the night’s fashion theme of the color red when she stepped out in a red satin dress and cowboy boots. Followed by Elizabeth’s signature red lipstick and red western style dress.
She Returns From War, who recently released an excellent album, Ruthless, broke up a set of soft, heartfelt ballads with storytelling with jokes between and even during songs.
Elizabeth Moen started her set off solo, and then she was joined by Hayden Holbert. The early part of the set drew the crowd in with some newer songs, and the fan-favorite “Headgear” shut things down, followed by the encore. Her first-ever song, “Songbird” was only included in the setlist.
