Easy Honey have made the best of 2020 in their own way. The album that they had initially planned for release this year, Maritime Love Affair, was split into a double EP and instead arrived in doses. This gave the band plenty of content to work with, and kept things fresh enough for those of us listening because we’ve always had a new release on the horizon. This week Easy Honey tie the knot with the release of the second part of said double EP, Maritime Love Affair: II.
Maritime Love Affair: II is four tracks, including the single “Fork You” from last month, and “Like Glue” which was the band’s first release of the year, way back in January. The songs are in Easy Honey’s laid-back garage rock style, bathed in 90s nostalgia and calling influence on bands like Weezer, Built to Spill, and I’m even hearing some Being There era Wilco with “Knocked Out”. This all delivered in a warm, crispy package, courtesy of engineer Matt Zutell at Coast Records.
