Butterfly Releases Funky New Single “No More Pictures”
    Published: October 27, 2017

For the new single from local garage rock band Butterfly, Joey Haines starts with a bassline that’s similar to the one in 1979 disco hit “Good Times” by Chic (also sampled in “Rapper’s Delight” by The Sugarhill Gang). Nobody would call “No More Pictures” a disco song, though, in fact I’d say it’s far from it, but the iconic bassline is notorious for getting people to the dance floor. “No More Pictures” is hard to nail with a genre, but the vocals certainly remind me of fellow Charleston band Human Resources. It’s a marked departure from the songs on the debut EP from Butterfly, Baby Heartbreak, but you can definitely feel some of that garage rock vein running throughout, with a little dance-pop thrown in for fun. Stream it below.
