    Brother Oliver – “False Prophet”

Last week, Greenville folk rock outfit Brother Oliver premiered their new single “False Prophet” with Grimy Goods. “False Prophet” is the second single release from Brother Oliver this year, following the release of “Castles” back in May. According to Brother Oliver’s Andrew Oliver, the band is currently working on their next full-length album, with plans for release in the Spring of 2019.

“False Prophet” shows Brother Oliver diving deeper into the psychedelic side of folk rock, where I think they’ve found themselves a nice little home. With this one, Brother Oliver urges listeners to think for themselves and ignore those who are touting themselves as modern-day messiahs. With a solid lyrical message and perhaps the heaviest rock ‘n’ roll undertones we’ve seen from this band yet, “False Prophet” hits right on the mark.

Brother Oliver currently has tour dates scheduled from now through the end of November, including a Charleston date on October 2nd at the Tattooed Moose. Listen to “False Prophet” below.
