Argot Premieres Second Single Off Upcoming Debut EP
Published: February 6, 2018
Last Friday, Argot premiered the first single off their upcoming debut EP, Murder Lounge, via Charleston Scene. The EP is slated for a Soundcloud release this Saturday, February 10th, and will be available on other streaming platforms about a week later. On the night that Murder Lounge is released, Argot will play at downtown house venue The Embassy with Orange Doors and Matilda Dae.
More info on Argot’s EP release party at The Embassy can be found here.
Argot spawned from the ashes of a little band you might remember called Great Yankee, where John Brooker co-wrote songs alongside current Argot bassist Joe Fusco. Great Yankee fell apart when their drummer left for Med School, but John never stopped writing songs. In late 2017, Argot popped up with a B-Side Sessions video recorded at Helping Kids With Cancer Thrift Store in Avondale, where they played “Beast of Your World” (another song from Murder Lounge).
While Argot does share some Great Yankee members, it is a completely separate project. Brooker hopes to capture a more mature sound with this first effort from Argot, utilizing more complex song structures and instrumentation to do so. They recorded the EP in their drummer Chris Howell’s living room, and it was mastered by DJ Edwards of Real South Records and Beach Sex.
Today, we’re premiering “Been There”, the second single off Argot’s debut EP, Murder Lounge. Stream the single below, and be on the lookout for the full EP dropping this Saturday.
