AllThingsGxld Productions Brings Intimate, Free Multi-Genre Shows to Rebel Taqueria
    Published: September 4, 2024

This weekend, Extra Chill’s own Thad Adams of AllThingsGxld Productions makes his debut as an official organizer for up-and-coming Charleston music venue, Rebel Taqueria. Born out of a taco truck, this spot not only has great food, but a high quality sound system and is well on its way to becoming a hub for the Charleston’s music scene, with free shows every weekend.

On Friday, September 6th, Tyrie & Friends will bring a night of live mixes to the venue. Then, on Saturday the 7th there is a diverse, multi-genre showcase featuring B.A.S.I.C., P!lot, Tom Mackell, and Bingo Baby.

“The whole idea is bring more intimate multi-genre shows to the current mix of events and showcase the versatility and reach of the Charleston music scene,” Thad says.

Thad is local rapper himself, under the moniker Indi’Gxld, and has made a name for himself in recent years with his genuine spirit and positive outlook. In addition to the multi-genre shows, he hopes to showcase the depth of hip-hop that exists here.

“A ‘rap artist’ booking shows outside of hip hop and doing it with the intention of showing cohesion in the genre pool of Charleston is not a trend beyond a handful of guys,” Thad explains. “And of course to spotlight that fact that Rebel Taqueria, along with places like Sweatman’s Garden, are becoming small hubs for a lot of Charleston music, and have shown nothing but love to the hip hop scene. Through that connection we are building beyond just hip hop.”

Thad’s lineup of shows at Rebel for the rest of September is looking strong. On September 13th, Black Zola, Jenna Desmond, and Georgia Nubia will perform an intimate songwriter showcase. September 14th Gavin Hamilton will perform with a full band. Finally, September 20th features hip-hop label Holy City Records hosting a takeover with King Cutler, LGP Ammon, Tam The Vibe, Kuntry, and more.
